My name is Lauren Becker, a Michigan native who recently relocated to Denver. From a young age, I have enjoyed expressing my creativity via writing and fell more in love as the years progressed. Combining a degree in Marketing with a flair for creative writing, I have written professionally for eCommerce brands, creating email copy, presentations, product descriptions, and printed assets focusing on each client's tone of voice and unique brand personality.

Since you don't know me, I thought I would change that in the least boring way possible!
I was born & raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan, not too far from one of the many freshwater beaches the state has to offer!
I have been practicing yoga for 13 years. No, I still cannot do a hand stand.
Once, while checking out a glacier in Alaska, I was joined by a small group of Tibetan monks.
Instead of being "practical" & at the incessant urging of most people I know to get a "job with my new degree," I followed my heart & worked in a library for three years. One of the best decisions I have made.
Moving to another city was on my bucket list, so I moved to Denver, Colorado this past October. Bucket lists are sacred to me.
Speaking of bucket lists, I also want to write & publish a book.
I am a mother to 18 plants, the longest living - and my first - is a peace lily 8 years in age.
What's with the pineapple?
Pineapple - once an enduring nickname given to me in high school because of the large bun I wore almost every day (see above, I still wear buns), somehow became a recurring theme throughout my life.
While slinging fruit at a smoothie shop with a pineapple logo to learning that it was the symbol of hospitality while working at one of the largest hotels in downtown Grand Rapids, the fruit was following me everywhere. Soon, the pineapple was becoming a representation of the values I hold.
While working in the hospitality industry, being in service of others and going above and beyond to give guests a great experience gave me immense satisfaction and pride, and I learned the power of connection. This became ingrained in me while serving my local community at the public library.
The pineapple, to me, is a promise to do my best, remain optimistic amidst challenges and adversity, and strive to connect with others, whether a client, colleague, friend, passerby on the street, or family, through the written word, in person or anything in between.
So, it is now a part of my personal brand and a symbol of my values. And, of course, a tasty treat.
